Solar Medical Applications
 There is an increasing demand in Nigeria for reliable and cost effective electricity suppliers to several remote medical and health care applications. Solar power over comes the problems of fuel supply, spare parts and running cost associated with kerosene, gas and diesel burning generator power sources for remote health care facilities.
Rubitec Solar provides standard systems for primary health care facilities in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. These systems are design based on the size, population being served, and hospital equipment being utilized.

Solar Pump Systems
 If you are located away from reliable power sources and need to pump water for people, irrigation, livestock, then solar water pumping may be the solution for you. Solar power provides a welcome alternative to fuel burning generators and tedious hand pumps. Over 5,000 solar pumps are working throughout Nigeria. Most of them are community-pumping systems with a 1.5kw Solar Array to supply up to 5,000 gallons of water a day. Also are small system for remote homes, villages and livestock.
Although some systems cost little more than their fuel-powered equivalents, their owners enjoy a reliable power system that require no fuel and very little attention. Rubitec systems are available with either surface models or submersible DC powered pump, which can be tailored to your specific need. Below is a list of various types. Panel – Direct (No battery) systems:
Capacity: 250 to 25,000 gallons per day
Depth to water: Surface to 75 feet below the pump
Total head: Up to 300 feet
Well requirement: As small as 1” diameter – usually 2” or larger or pumping from a stream, river, cistern etc.
Best application: Livestock and wildlife watering low pressure irrigation, village or residential water.
Submersible pumps (panel-direct or battery system)
Capacity: Up to 10,000 gallon per day.
Depth to water: 20 to 400 below ground level
Depth to water: Minimum of 4” diameter or larger
Solar – recharged battery systems
Capacity: 50 to 5,000gallons per day
Depth to water: Up to 100 feet below the pump
Total well requirements: Same as panel – direct system
Best application: Same as panel direct system but it can supply pressurized water for on demand use day or night for any remote location.

Solar Home Systems
Generally speaking, solar electric homes system may be categorized into two primary types Stand-alone, and Hybrid Back-up these may be designed to meet all or part of the home electrical requirement.
Stand-alone Systems:
Are usually a utility substitute. They generally include solar charging modules, storage batteries and charge controller. If AC power is desired inverter will be required.
Hybrid Back-ups:
Some homeowners may choose to include a fuel powered back-up generator. Typically, such “hybrid” systems share the load between the solar chargers and the back up generator. Batteries are still required, plus and AC inverter if regular AC household appliances will be powered.

Solar Rural Electrification Systems
Connecting some remote villages in Nigeria to the national grid remain a mirage even in years to come, this is primarily due to the huge cost of laying power transmission cable along a span of over 100km only to power a village settlement of a little above 20 households.
Rubitec solar to the rescue provides two categories of generation designs:
- Central Generating Systems
- Stand-alone Generating Systems
In Central Generating Systems, energy is generated from the pool of solar arrays and the electricity generated thereof is connected to a utility line and then distributed to individual household. The Stand-alone unit is a decentralized generator where the energy is generated at the point of need and the modules are placed on the roof of individual household.
