RUBITEC SOLAR WINS THE REA-IMAS BID

We are so delighted to announce that Rubitec Solar has been considered as one of the top-rated bidders for the Interconnected Mini-grid Acceleration Scheme (IMAS). Our bid has been selected under the Benin Disco lot, thus we shall work closely with the distribution company in electrifying previously underserved communities in this region. This is particularly important to us as it aligns with our mission to lead the electrification of both unserved and underserved communities in Nigeria, thus increasing the electricity access rate in the Nation.

IMAS is a nationwide non-site specific open competitive tender designed to select local mini-grid companies. The winners of the tender are supported in deploying their proposed interconnected mini-grid projects with an in-kind partial capital grant (in the form of procured distribution and metering equipment) and technical assistance. The objective is to provide a minimum of 15,000 customers including residential, public, commercial or productive users across Nigeria with access to reliable electricity services at an affordable tariff via privately-led solar interconnected mini-grid projects by the end of September 2020.

The tender is championed by the Federal Ministry of Power (FMP) and implemented by the REA, with the financial support of the European Union (EU) and the German Government through the Nigerian Energy Support Programme (NESP) implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft fir Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

Thank you REA
